The Honest Fill Mark
The only independent certification mark that guarantees a snack product is filled to the Honest Fill standard. Here is what it means, how it is issued, and how brands use it.
What It Is
A mark that means something you can verify.
The Honest Fill mark is a registered certification mark — not a logo, not a badge, not a marketing claim. A certification mark has legal weight: it signifies that the product bearing it has been independently tested and meets the Honest Fill Standard.
It is issued only after a brand completes the full audit process. It cannot be self-applied, purchased, or licensed without completing certification. Unauthorized use is a violation of trademark law.
Every mark on packaging links to a public certification record on this website, so any consumer can verify it in seconds.

The Issuance Process
How a brand earns the mark
The mark is earned, not bought. Every step is independently verified before issuance.
Application submitted and reviewed
ActiveBrand submits application. Honest Fill reviews eligibility — product type, packaging format, and manufacturing location must fall within the current standard scope. Ineligible applications are declined at this stage at no cost.
Brand ships 12 units per SKU
ActiveUpon approval, the brand ships 12 sealed retail units per SKU to Honest Fill via any standard carrier. Units must be standard production inventory — not specially prepared samples. Honest Fill provides the shipping address and confirms receipt within 1 business day.
Fill ratio testing — results in 5 business days
ActiveHonest Fill measures fill ratio on every submitted unit using a standardized volumetric protocol. The brand receives a detailed pass/fail report for each SKU within 5 business days of receipt. If a SKU fails, the report includes the exact fill rate measured.
Certification issued — mark files delivered
ActivePassing brands receive a Certification Certificate with a unique certification number, expiry date, and list of certified SKUs. The brand receives the official Honest Fill mark files (SVG, PNG, EPS) and Usage Guidelines. The brand is listed in the public Honest Fill certified brands directory.
Mark applied to packaging
ActiveThe brand applies the Honest Fill mark to certified product packaging per the Usage Guidelines. Honest Fill reviews packaging mock-ups before production to confirm correct usage. The mark may only appear on certified SKUs.
Annual renewal and retail spot-checks
ActiveCertification renews annually. Brands ship a fresh 12-unit sample per SKU each year — the entire renewal process. Honest Fill also conducts unannounced retail spot-checks, purchasing certified products off shelves and testing them independently. Failure at any stage triggers the enforcement process.
Usage Guidelines
How certified brands use the mark
Certified brands receive official Honest Fill mark files and a Usage Guidelines document. The mark may be used on certified products only — not on uncertified SKUs, brand websites as a general claim, or advertising without specifying the certified products.
